Taking Care of Your Skin During Fire Season

Hey, LA! The recent conditions in our community can take a toll on your skin, leaving it dry, irritated, and exposed to harsh elements, so we put together a quick how-to on giving your skin the care it needs to stay healthy and hydrated during the post-wildfire season!

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

Start by drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated. Skincare isn’t just about what you put on your skin; it starts from the inside. Hydrating your body is key. Once you’ve got that covered, choose a moisturizer to lock in that hydration and keep your skin soft and protected.

Cleanse Gently

Use a hydrating cleanser (shoutout to Clearstem for their amazing gentle formula!) to wash away impurities. Be kind to your skin—avoid harsh scrubs. If you want to exfoliate, keep it to once a week to avoid irritating your skin.

Protect Your Skin

Sunscreen is a must! Even if the air is smoky or the skies are cloudy, UV rays can still damage your skin. A cute hat, sunglasses, and staying in the shade can also help minimize exposure and keep your skin protected.

Avoid Fragrances

Wildfire smoke can make your skin more sensitive, so it’s best to avoid fragranced products that can trigger irritation or breakouts.

Nighttime Care

Apply a thicker moisturizer (like Clearstem’s HYDRABERRY mask) before bed to repair your skin overnight. If you’re in the mood, add a soothing face mask. And don’t forget lip balm to keep your lips soft and hydrated, too.

We hope these tips and products can brighten your skin and life a little during this challenging time! As always, our AIRE team is here for you, and we’re sending love and thoughts to our community!
