What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a form of meditation that utilizes sound to induce deeper states of relaxation. It is the fusion of music and meditation. Sound baths are powerful healing tools that use various instruments to create the calming frequencies you hear. Typical sound bath instruments include crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, and cymbals.
A sound bath begins in a comfortable position while the sound healer plays their chosen instrument, creating an entirely meditative and deeply relaxing environment. The goal of this therapeutic practice is to enter a state of extreme relaxation, reduce stress, promote healing, and enhance overall well-being through the harmonious vibrations of sound.
To understand more about this practice, we asked Lauren Mulne, our Director of Brand partnerships, holistic Health Coach, and Sound Healer, how she would describe a sound bath. Here is what she said…
“A Sound Bath is simply a form of meditation that allows you to drop into a deeper state of relaxation. Sound baths offer a profoundly immersive meditative journey, employing thoughtfully selected frequencies to guide a tranquil exploration within. These sessions foster relaxation, alleviate anxiety and stress, and aid in restoring harmony across our nervous system, as well as our physical, emotional, and energetic selves.”
